Dupes Deals & Steals - Shoe Edition

Hello everyone! Today I'll be sharing some dupes for shoes that'll be all over the place this summer... or at least on my feet.

First, we have these Loeffler Randall "Lulu" mules. These are so cute and if you spotted this trend early enough, you've been rocking them since spring. (or maybe even last fall). Forever 21 has a shoe that is almost identical (thanks forever 21 for always making knock offs of cute shoes). Both brands come with black and pink suede options. Target also has a similar shoe option but this one is faux leather rather than the suede.

Second, we have regular old mules because I obviously can't make a shoe post without my favorite style. The top pair is from Mango and they actually aren't too pricey at $50. BUT, Forever 21 has the same style for half of that price! This low heel is perfect for those who want to add a bit of height but don't want to suffer through the pain of wearing regular heels. P.S. I have a summer outfit blog post coming soon ft these F21 mules!!

Lastly, we have a classic sandal. These are really a hit or miss style with people. They either hate it or they love it. I used to despise these sandals, but when I tried them on I was hooked. Now, the Birkenstock's are a tad expensive ($125), so I went and got a knock off pair from Target! These shoes are so comfortable, I could literally walk in them all day long. Definitely a great shoe for running errands and they go with pretty much everything.

Well that's all for today's post! Thanks for reading!!

Easy Banana Bread Recipe

Hey y'all! Today I'm going to share with you my favorite banana bread recipe!
A little fact about me is that I am actually allergic to bananas, so I technically can't eat this. (although sometimes I have a little slice since my allergy is mild) BUT, I used to eat this before I found out I was allergic and I loved it. It's a family favorite and the loaf is usually gone within a day at our house!

Original recipe courtesy of Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger.

This recipe makes 1 loaf and will take around 1 hour to cook. Prep time is about 20-30 minutes.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2  teaspoon vanilla*
*not necessary but we add it to ours

Directions
  • Preheat oven to 325°. Butter a 9 x 5 x 3 inch bread pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the sugar and the butter. Add in eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
  • In a small ball, mash the banana. Mix in cinnamon and milk.
  • In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  • Add the banana mix to the creamed butter/sugar and mix until combined. Add the dry ingredients and mix until flour disappears.
  • Pour into bread pan.
  • Bake for 1 hour to an hour and 10 minutes. (check with a toothpick until it comes out clean)
I seriously love adding chocolate chips to my banana bread so if that sounds like something you'd want to try then add 1/2 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips (or more.. i'm not going to judge you) to the batter before you pour it into the pan!

As always, let me know if you make this recipe and tag me on instagram if you do!

Planning Through Life

Hi guys! Today I'm going to be talking about how I stay organized and on top of everything. I use this gorgeous Sugar Paper Co. planner (get it here!) and it's honestly been life changing. I've always like planners/journals to keep track of things, (I'm obsessed with making lists.) So this is a great planner to keep all of those.

I'm not perfect by any means. I'll make a to-do list for the day and get nothing done on it. I used to be so upset if I didn't get everything done but it's OKAY!! trust me. Don't be so hard on yourself and just move your list to a new day, and if you don't get it done by then either, WHO CARES. You do you boo.

(If you noticed, I had planned to put up a different post but I haven't done it yet!!)

Sometimes what helps me is, instead of making a "to-do" list, i'll make a "done" list. I'll just write down all the things I did that day and I get to check them off (my favorite part) because it's already done!

Keeping a planner is great way to stay on track with your goals. And since this planner has a monthly view as well as a weekly view it's super easy to plan out your week, whether it be meals, goals, lists, important things (i.e birthdays, meetings, dates). I like to write out my monthly goals in the notes margin.

It's okay if you don't do everything you wanted to!! Remember that!!

Also remember that what works for me might not work for you! So if you want to start using a planner, customize it to your needs.

I'd like to apologize if this is kind of all over the place..I was writing it as if I was talking and that's how it came out ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
